It's beautiful. Can you imagine a 350 square mile iceberg? How long does one of these last after they start floating away?

What no climate change debate yet in the threads? The story is poorly written...On one hand says it is almost certainly related to climate change but then goes on to say it appears to be a cyclical process occurring about every decade. Does not address if this is an overall typical event or somehow different. I wonder how much data they even have on this process at this locale. 10 yrs, even 100 yrs doesn't seem like enough to make any conclusions...

I like the fact there is no debate, its nice to not bring politics into something and just look at the beauty in the world

Every decade could still be a climate change effect. The glacier did indeed increase velocity due to warming, so one would think the frequency of calving would increase correspondingly. Before things started heating up the frequency would probably have been much lower.

There is no politics in this post, even if I did say "climate change"

Agreed, nice to see it not devolve into the typical petty name calling/insult party so commonly seen here.

That's awesome. We need them to tow it to Califonia. Some wise guy thought it was a good idea to cement our rivers and let all the water flow out to sea so we have underground aquafers anymore.
