I think it is time that the mystery of Billy the Kid be solved. There are alot of us so called history buffs that would like to know what exactly happened to the Kid. Just think what it could do for the state of New Mexico and Texas if he is burried there or where ever he lie in rest. If in fact Billy the Kid is not burried in New Mexico the kid made that state famous for his role in the Lincoln county war and his mother is burried there. Over all though look what we did for Custer to find out the truth of what happened and the Alamo. Are we only wanting to uncover the truth for so called heros in our history? I mean look at the reasons why the Kid did what he did I mean if someone killed someone very close to us we all feel that same anger that Billy did. W dont act on it but back then things were different and he did act on that anger. So in a short sum up I think it would be a very good idea to go with it and try and reviel the truth and unsolve the mystery of Billy the Kid and show who he really is, because the past is the past and you cant take that away for nothing no matter what but we can change the future and how we look at people and judge them.

We love our myths, especially when attached to tourist dollars.

This is why history is interesting. Although the past may be written, our understanding of it is constantly changing. Look at all the questions that arise if the body is not Billy the Kid. Why was the myth created, for one?
